DSM & Humboldt ClearComp 1078 Compressor

DSM & Humboldt Clearcomp 1078 is a freshly engineered super transparent compressor with a unique Dynamic Threshold topology. Most compressors dynamically reduce the gain progressively as the level rises above the threshold. This DT Topology dynamically modifies the threshold with a fixed gain reduction, achieving a natural and transparent compression effect with a lower noise floor, less coloring and higher dynamic range.​

The “1078” label and the aesthetics behind this compressor responds to a reminiscent of the best era on studio products (including Neve designs and much more) but not on the design concept behind those products. This is the way to honor the legacy of those pioneers on bringing new design topology’s to the audio world.

The pedal also has all the adjustment options you’d expect from a compressor. The level knob adjusts the overall volume of the compressor and the compression knob adjusts the amount of compression. With the Blend button you can add the unprocessed signal back to the processed signal, so it is a parallel compressor. The ratio knob sets the degree of compression, from 2:1 to 20:1. The release and attack controls customize the way the compression responds to the front and rear of your signal. A multicolored 5-stage LED displays the resulting envelope level in real time.
